About Us
Owner and winemaker Mitchell Smith, along with his wife Susie, began their journey into wine making in 2004. Since that time Mitchell has expanded his personal love of wine making into an operational winery in Newport, North Carolina. Mitchell carefully selects the highest quality fruit available for his wines. He often travels many miles to make sure that only the best ingredients are used in his wine making process. Lake Road Winery specializes in wines made with North Carolina fruits and berries.

The Lake Road Winery Tasting Room is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from from noon to 6:00pm. Other times may be scheduled by appointment
